Division 17 Independence
8/11/2008 21:10 Death Investigation
Officers responded to 5834 Cedars East Ct. in reference to one shot. Officers discovered one subject inside the apartment w/ a fatal gunshot wound. Homicide detectives responded. The victim has been identified as Calvin Dewayne Black. Next of kin has been notified. Investigation is ongoing.

8/11/2008 18:54 Robbery from Person - Strong Arm
A female victim observed two B/M suspects breaking into her vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot. The victim got into her vehicle while the suspects were attempting to break into the vehicle. One of the suspects grabbed the victim¿s arm and demanded her keys. The victim fled on foot and the suspects took the victim¿s purse out of the vehicle and fled the scene on a scooter. No one was injured.

Four victims leaving the club were robbed at gunpoint by four suspects who took to autos plus money. One victim fled and was shot at, but not injured.
