What happened to three strikes your out? Why are violent offenders having their sentences reduced? A few months ago the whole community was shocked by the deaths of officers Jeffrey Shelton and Sean Clark. Our political and administrative leaders were on the news for days proclaiming a change needs to be made. The same thing happened when John Burnette and Andy Nobles were killed. Does anyone out here know what if anything has been done? I know arrests are made but it seems the only way to keep them (criminals) off the street is to give them a federal charge. While we wait for the change we were told was coming, one more store is robbed, one more kid is looking to make his street credentials. One more kid tries drugs. We can send billions over seas. But we can’t get funding for more police and district attorneys. Something is wrong. No matter what side of the political spectrum you fall on. We need to stop accepting lip service from our leaders and demand action. Change is never easy. But change needs action to make it happen. Again, does anyone have some good news?
