Possibly moving to Charlotte...

Hi there. Just wondering a little about the area... I'm from NY, and my boyfriends company is doing a ton of lay-offs... They are relocating his office to NC, where the corporate office is.

They are flying us down next week to check out the area.. But I'm a little worried about the crime rate down there, and the neighborhoods. Just wondering if anyone has any advice... or knows of any websites where we can get more information.

We're from upstate NY, (Albany area) so it's much different than NYC. We'll be meeting with a real estate agent down there next week also, and I'm wondering what are some decent inexpensive neighborhoods around or in Charlotte.

Stay away from Charlotte, especially if you are coming from upstate NY.
You will not like it here, crime is absolutely out of control, even in the nicer areas of Charlotte.
Look else where!

That's not a productive response - they may not have a choice. Crime is bad in a lot of places, even other cities besides Charlotte. Maybe it's bad where they are moving from!
