I gotta say I agree. It was a horrific lapse in judgement. Where's the consistency in sentencing these crimes anyway? I forget his name, but the kid who killed the lady in Matthews only got 6 months. One extreme or the other...

How about the man (Zepplin Hopper) who killed Ryan Yoho and got 3 months... He had a prior DUI too!

From what I've read, the DUI laws became much stricter 12/1/06. My heart aches for all three families in the Brock Hunter DUI case. The thing that tugs at my heart the hardest is the fact that this boy lost his father, a Charlotte fireman, in the line of duty three years ago, according to postings I've read. Brock would have about 15 at the time...he needed to have his dad around...now his mother has lost her husband AND her son is serving the best years of his life in prison...sentenced just before Christmas....just a few days away from a much lesser time of confinement. The film of his trial is being shown in schools. Let us hope the students, particularly the one who laced Brock's beer with a pain pill (if, indeed, that did happen) heed the message told in the film.
