A source in CMPD told me that the reason crime stats have dropped in Charlotte is because there is a policy to downplay crime or not make crime reports at all. This has been reported in the news this summer to some extent.

From my personal experience I now believe just that!
Believe it or not my source in THE CMPD experienced FIRST HAND what I am talking about.
I do not fault the police but I do fault the bureaucrats in charge.

If you become a crime victim do not let things slide, be a squeaky wheel and demand action.

I'm sorry that must have sounded racist. We can't have that now can we? Let's all just stick our heads in the sand, leave our handguns in the safe, carry wads of cash, leave our cars unlocked and rely on the police for our own safety and survival.

There's a war going on in this country and it's right outside your door. Look at the number of people killed in this country per year and look at the race of people doing the vast majority of it. Wake Up!!

You are so right because I live in Hickory, N.C, and I go down to Charlotte to party/hang out; there is a lot crime down there, and I have to be on guard; I see why white people move to the suburbs or rural areas because the crime rates are tremendously lower, and I happen to be African American. Furthermore, I read an article in Black Enterprise Magazine a few years ago, and it stated that, '' Most minorities tend to be highly concentrated in urban areas than any other areas in the United States.'' I'm not racist either, but I'm a realist, and I prefer any area with low crime rates anyday versues high crime rates!!! Moreover, I'm considering relocating to the Charlotte area, but I'd rather live in towns like Belmont, Mt. Holly, Pineville, or Fort Mill because based on the numbers is that theses places are quieter and safer; thus, that's why any decent African American with money moves out of high crime areas rather than move in period!!!! In other words, I'm with the white people when it comes down to the hard cold facts!!!!

That is the truth for all races and cultures; nobody wants to live in high crime areas, and no area is completely crime free because smart criminals go where the proverbal money spots are located ; futhermore, all races have good apples and bad ones, but I would rather take my chances in any good area!!! Don't get me wrong about Charlotte; it's a good place, and any place you stay at is always better if you are at the top of the food chain or close to it versues being at the bottum; you have to be cautious everywhere these days especially in Charlotte, N.C!!!!!

On another note, the closesr you get to urban areas especially large urban areas a lot of criminals tend to be minorities, but the closer you get to suburbs or rural areas the criminals tend to be white especially in mountainous areas too!! Speaking of which, you don't find that many minorities in mountainous areas; I wonder why? I guess that old saying is true amongst blacks is that,"" If you live in the city and your car breaks down, then you can still find alternative means on getting to work provided that you work in the city. "" Moreover, I've personally meet plenty of white people who fled the city life not only because of the crime, but they fled the city for various reasons like work, change, and lower cost of living; my counter arugment to that notion is that no matter where you go the balance scale will follow being that, '' THE RICH GET RICH AND THE POOR GET POORER!!!! Business owners are smart in turns of researching the current market and setting the wages accordingly!!! Sorry, I didn't mean to get way off base!!!!!
