An Olympian resident has been arrested by police in connection with the shooting death of a 24 year old man, according to Lacey police. Ronald Michaelson, has been arrested on suspicion of second degree assault and second degree murder in the the death of James Kirk. Police were called to a home on 19th Avenue Southeast, where they discovered Kirk with injuries, which appeared to be life threatening. Kirk was lying near the front entryway of the home, and emergency personnel transported him to Providence St. Peter Hospital, where he died. According to Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock, Kirk died as a result of a “penetrating gunshot wound to the head, neck and chest.” Lieutenant Phil Comstock, reportedly said that detectives were able to connect Michaelson to the crime after talking to witnesses and other individuals who had spoken to Kirk on his cell phone before his death. Michaelson was taken into custody without any resistance and an alleged accomplice was arrested on Monday, in King County. Victor Conquest, 37, was placed in the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of second degree murder and his vehicle has been impounded by police as evidence.
