Derita is bad. Unfortunately I know a few good people who live there but the youth population in that area has exploded and they have no respect for themselves, let alone somebody else.

I am NOT a racist, I am a REALIST. Why do people refuse to look at raw data and refuse to accept things as they are? Instead of always trying to find an excuse for criminal behavior why not accept that the behavior that causes crime is imbedded and is now considered commonplace and normal in the black culture. Until the black culture changes itself it will continue to produce the largest proportion of criminals than any other ethnic group. That is a fact even if it may sound racist.

Living in Hiddenvalley for 54 years before and after they created it, we understand too well the many problems it is having. John Crosland desined Hiddenvalley's layout in the 60's which was way way too big and a giant maze you and I and the Police can get lost in. It needs to be seperated into 3 of 4 sections and renamed, then blocked off from each other. So the bandits can't make a fast escape, the drug dealers and gangs and prostitutes will disapear when they shut down all those whore house Hotels at Sugar Creek and I-85 & Regan st. Or the authorities get serious about regulating them, I had to stop going through there at night, it is way to dangerous. Car jackings, murder, armed robbery, gang wars, hustlers hit you up at the drive-in-window at McDonalds all day and night...what kind of life is that? There should be Police posted at every intersection 24/7 until they get a grip on this area. My best friend was shot in his car at Sugarcreek and I-85, no reason...just target practice. geeeeeeeesh ! Who is in charge ? regards...Fortwoody

Shasmecka, I saw some black helicopters hovering over your house. Watch out they are coming for you!!! Can I borrow 500 dollars. I saw a internet ad that sold a special hat you can wear to keep the government from reading your thoughts it only cost 400 dollars but I can spend the other 100 dollars on building a web site that shows how George Bush is planning on invading Australia . These websites you listed are a bunch of anti american nuts. Get a life!

Bruce, that's funny! I had almost the same thought about the special hat. I had a picture in my mind of someone wearing a tin foil hat to keep the aliens from reading their mind (from an old movie or somewhere).
But Shasmecka is probably just young, and you know the old quote about 'young and liberal', then 'older and conservative'. Churchill? I remember when I was 20, didn't have a clue about politics, except for what I got from the Mother Earth News magazine and Rolling Stone, and someone gave me some John Burch material. I got scared to death. So, I went from one extreme to another! Thank goodness I've mellowed out some. I'm sure she will too, unless she needs some meds.

Gents. I'm no RACIST, I'm a REALIST. Truth is hate by those who hate the truth. My neighborhood is nearly all white and I have NEVER locked my vehicle overnight for 15 years there. Try that in a black neighborhood.

I cant believe you people pick Hidden Valley over Tuckaseegee with the whole crime thing. its for worst neighborhoods in charlotte than Hidden Valley. I grow up off Tuckaseegee its far worst. The west side is the worst of all sides trust me. This is coming from someone that have lived it not just road through it. Id rather a person say north charlotte before saying HV sugar creek area. You people have to live it to really really know. If you from here everybody know whats the worst areas. Im from the westside so you def know going to another area of charlotte is nothing to me.

I will have to say that the University City area is horrible. I just came across this blog when I looked for crime statistics. I think I want to move to Union County now. Here's a website that reports on University City Crime: tinyurl.com/7m667lsI was shocked when I read about some of this stuff.
