I have been monitoring this Message Board off and on for quite some time, but as of today I decided to join. If nothing else to let you know you aren't the only one with crime in Charlotte - at least not anymore.
Since I-485 opened we have had a Bank Robbery
4 homes Broken into 2 Cars vandalized with broken windows and then thefts and yes the usual nuts that have left their car doors unlocked (as in the good old days) and their "stuff" stolen,
What I just mentioned happened in the month of December with exception of the Bank. All of this with in a mile of I-485.
And yes you got it - the crimes they have solved - the criminals are from Charlotte!
Thanks Charlotte for "sharing the Wealth of Criminals" - NOT!
Please know that this is crime that mostly does not get reported like in CharMeck. We usually do not find out about it.

ooops i forgot to log in I hope you understand when I say - I am sorry, but I would rather not say where. If there is a question about it or something I can attempt to answer. I will tell you the exit has been open for a while and there are several of us discouraged about the crime that began to happen and is now happening with too much regularity.

Hey Mikey Don't blame an asphalt paved road for your problems.....highways don't rob people...people rob people. And I am sure that highway has benifited you also..........

I am guessing he means Ballantyne. Lots of crime there lately and there was a lot of opposition to the Johnston Rd exit being opened up a couple years ago. I have a friend who used to live near there and there is much more traffic going through that area than there was.

Thanks for response McGruff. You are correct when you say I/we benefit from the pavement - I will give you that.
However it is the new pavement that has now allowed "people" (if you want to call these kinds of criminals people) better access to to the area to do the crimes.
After speaking to the local police authorities - they said; "With the opening of the I-485 exits there will be an increase in crime and there is not much we can do about it! It is easier for the criminal to escape now!"
I dont hate the pavement - just the crime now associated with it.
