Thanks for the update!
This is outrageous! I sent this information to some of my media contacts & I'm hoping they will follow up on it...
You are right... the public SHOULD know about the injustices of our judicial system and the judges who are supposed to protect us.
Holly Mitchell is only 17 but he is dangerous. He has numerous arrests for carrying guns, assault, selling drugs, breaking and entering and communicating threats... this is only in the past year and a half.
It is only a matter of time before we see Holly again. It would be great if we could hold the judge responsible for any of Holly's future antics but you know how that goes...

Someone needs to lock his mother up too. Obviously she wants him to stay out on the street so that he can continue to commit crimes, since she defended him in court. This is why so many kids don't feel like they need to be held accountable for their actions. The next time he gets arrested, which I'm sure will be soon, she needs to get locked up with him They can share a cell together... That would be 2 less criminals on the street.

UPDATE: Mitchell's court date was changed to March 1, 2007.
Holly Mitchell is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on Feb 2nd for his charges of carrying a concealed weapon, having a weapon on educational property and possession of a firearm by a felon. It should be interesting to see what happens...

Quote; "All that is needed for evil to reign, is for good men to do nothing" or something to that effect.
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon is something like 5 years at club Fed -- if a judge will impose the sentence. Another case for having Judaical reform.
If this judge is an elected judge, sounds like a recall or remember to vote him out next election.

You have a lot of guts. Thank you for your efforts to fight a cancer that is absolutely out of control!!! Certain elements of our society are in total chaos. "A moral sewer" may have been closer to the truth than we are willing to admit. (These are my sentiments. They are not intended to represent yours.) God Bless and Protect You!!

I dont think he will make it to his new court date. Not before he does something new to land him in jail. (For a day or two). When are the courts going to stop playing around with these people and make them do the time for the crime. This kid does not care about the law, hes been let off to much and too lightly. His contempt for the law is plain for all of us to see. Why cant the judge see it?

Folks, we must insist that The Observer report the name of the judge, or judges, that keep giving this guy slaps on the wrist. We don't have a crime problem in Charlotte, we have a judge problem. Don't let them hide in anonymity. Demand that the judges who don't sentence criminals be named by the media.

I feel compelled to bring politics into this as it seems to me that the three judges listed on WBT's page by Tara Servatius are all democrats. HK

Hes been locked up seven times One of the charges POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY FELON does North Carolina have a law giving mandatory time to felons found in possession of a fire arm? or the use of one in any crime. I don't know the NC code. I do recall that about 10 years ago, when a crime bill was being put together, Charles Schumer, the consumate smug politician who talked accidently of his socialist dream last year, managed to keep sentencing out of that crime bill. I believe it was 10 years for possession by a fellon, 20 yrs for discharge by a felon, and 30 years for shooting someone by a felon. Schumer didn't want that. He prefered to have the gun issue as he kept saying "The 2nd Amendment is not absolute" So I don't know if there is a federal law that's mandatory on gun possession. I supect that there is not. We are poorly served all around because politicians aren't afraid of their cars being turned over when they are in them AND most of them just aren't that bright. HK

It is obvious that Mr. Mitchell has proven that he is of absolutley no use to society, and instead chooses to intimidate and strike fear into the hearts of law abiding citizens. His " Thug life" ways and his desire to commit crime will lead to one of two results, One he will kill someone, or Two he will be killed commiting a crime, or by a rival gang.
