It seems that apartments are a no mans land. Robberies/ shootings and murder. They seem to have two things in common.
Thugs and apartments.
I live on the east side I see the reports.
And what most people see on the news at night is just the
(If it bleeds it leads stories).
Domestics assaults, assaults, drugs, larcenies and disturbances.
It's also looking like a lot of little gang bangers hang out around apartments even if they don't live there.
Maybe its time to start stepping on these low level street roaches and their low level drug trade. Interrupt there business for a while. What do you think?

I use the word ‘THUG” in the context of the pop culture meaning as, one who is a criminal, who breaks the law, who has disregard for societies rules of behavior and conduct..

The sad part is that a lot of these criminals are living part time in these apartments in which their girlfriends are getting a government check. They use these apartments as a base of operations. You cannot do enough for them .

You are so right about the apartment thing. Now it is said that there isn't enough affordable housing for renters in Charlotte.
Well they had lots of low rent housing up town but tore it down and moved babies Mama along with the thug trash out to the east side of Charlotte. You look at any list of calls for the Independence division or hickory grove and you will see that most are around (apartment complexes) or section eight housing. Thanks City Center partners you have made my area a high crime zone thanks. I love the loud music at night the gang members the shootings, break-ins drug dealing and all the other crimes that have moved in over the last 10 years. It's just great!
But nothing will be done. In order to solve a problem they would have to admit that there was one. We cant have that. Someone might get the wrong idea about crime in Charlotte and might not buy a $200,000 condo up-town.

i'm new to charlotte and have researched crime on several websites. i notice that this character "quint" is always ready to make a racist remark against blacks, no matter what the website or topic related to charlotte crime. i'm white but i find this dispicable. some of his comments might be somewhat factual - such as quoting facts about race and crime (which may be errant, but i don't have the time to check). the comment above - that any black male below the age of 35 is a "thug" - is simply a completely indefensible racist remark. it wouldn't surprise me a bit if quint is in the kkk. perhaps we should remind quint that most black's ancestors came to the u.s. as slaves and that public schools in predominantly black districts are generally horrendous. in other words, whites have much to blame for blacks being statistically more prone to crime and we all need to work together to solve the problem - rather than imagining what the crime levels would be in a "charlotte without blacks" - another one of quint's ridiculous comments in a different thread.

Why are we even discussing who to blame? I'm so sick of racism and the KKK references. This is 2008, let it go. Sorry but its time to stop blaming the whites for everything that goes wrong in the world. OMG maybe the black on white crime is happening because of the KKK and slavery. If I accused you personally of causing cancer in children how would that make you feel?
Most Americans just mind their own business and never give a thought to racism until they are called one because they talked about the facts of criminal behavior.
I will not take any blame for the choices criminals make.
As for myself I chose to work and provide for my family. You can take your white guilt and fund your own personal program for minorities or anyone else.

I'm white, and know fine Christian men who are black, under 35, working to raise their family responsibly, and working to better their community, Also, many white males under 35 doing the same. Surely you didn't mean to include all black and white males under 35? |

He (quint) is talking about black criminals under the age of 35 not all black males under 35.Anyway that is how I took it. This blog talks about criminals not law abiding citizens. |
