AARP Driver Safety Course
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s South Division will be hosting an AARP Driver Safety Course at the division office on Monday, June 4th and Wednesday, June 6th from 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM each day. The office is located at 8050 Corporate Center Driver, Suite 100. This course is all classroom and does not require driving. There is a $10 fee for the course. A check made out to AARP or cash will be accepted.
It is a refresher course for motorists age 50 or older. It will provide a review of driving skills and techniques to help assist you with normal age-related physical changes.
Some insurance companies may offer a discount if you take this course. If you or anyone you know is interested, please contact Brenda Wayne or Officer Ryan Jackson at 704-544-4835 or by email at rjackson1@cmpd.org. You will have a thirty minute break each day so please pack a lunch. If you are interested in this class but can not attend, please let us know and we will attempt to schedule another class in the future.
