Hi All,
I want to make everyone aware of an auto dealership in Charlotte that is unethical and crooked. If you need to buy a car, I would suggest you take your business elsewhere.
The name of the dealership is Auto Solutions of Charlotte- located at 5711 N. Tryon Street.
Here is why:
I bought a car from Auto Solutions of Charlotte last February. After my car was stolen and crashed, I was looking for something quick and for as little money as possible. The owner of this dealership is a friend of a friend and they made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
Everything was okay... until Friday. I always made my payments on-time and I haven't had any contact with them besides sending in my monthly payment.
On Friday- I left to go to work and I saw that my car is GONE! Of course, I thought my car was stolen so I called the police and gave all my information. They told me an officer would respond. I waited around for two hours and I get a phone call saying that my car wasn't stolen- it was repossessed!
WHAT?? I was SO mad! I've always made my car payments. I've had continuous insurance and paid the taxes.... what is the deal?
So, I called Auto Solutions and spoke with Wally. I asked why they took my car and he says that I hadn't made my December payment! I told him that I knew I made my payment and they cashed my check. I go straight to my computer to check my account and there it is... a copy of the canceled check.
He continues to argue with me and insists I did not make my payment. (I am steaming mad at this point) I tell him I will walk to the apartment office and fax him a copy of the processed check. He receives my fax and continues to argue with me about not getting my payment, his records show I was 30 days past due... on and on. I told him to check his records, call his bank or do whatever he needed to do because I made my payment and I had proof and I wanted my car back!
At that point, I was so mad and frustrated after dealing with a complete idiot and the whole situation. I called my friend to get the telephone number for the owner of the place- call the owner and leave a long message explaining the situation...
I took a minute to calm down and called Wally back at the dealership. He still didn't want to admit his error and told me that he didn't remember getting my payment, on and on ... Finally, he told me that I could go pick up my car at the impound lot on Albemarle Rd and pay a $100 fee.
Are you kidding me?? I was not paying for a darn thing... this was his fault and as far as I was concerned, he should have the car delivered back to my residence, pronto! I was shaking mad at this point and I did something very childish... I hung up the phone! I couldn't take this guy anymore!
30 minutes later, I got a phone call from Chuck, the owner of the place. He admitted the error on their part- apologizes profusely and told me that I could go pick up my car on Albemarle Rd with no charges, of course.
I rant and rave to him about how Wally treated me, the lack of record keeping and mostly the lack of communication! I didn't get any phone call or letter... nothing! If I had received a phone call, I would have had this cleared up a long time ago. How could they operate such a shady business... on and on.
In the end, I got my car back. I had to go pick it up, but I didn't even care at that point. However, I was out of work for a day and spent an entire day arguing with an idiot...
Come to find out- the dealership sells cars mostly to Hispanics. Most transactions are made in cash and they make a lot of money by repossessing cars. They charge a huge fee and if the person doesn't pay- they just resell the car. Great business, eh?!
