This is a mini rant...why do people have to be so rude? I live in a small neighborhood, where the speed limit is 25mph. I walk my dog twice a day, once in am (when school buses are running through) & also during the pm (also when buses are dropping off). Several times a week I have to jump and I do mean jump at least 2 feet away from edge of the road due to people who are not only speeding but from the looks of it aiming for anyone walking. Why? If we have sidewalks, I would use them, I walk on the very edge of the road, my dog is always in someones yard. Why do people feel the need to do things like this? What if a child ran out in the road, do you think they would feel any guilt? I know they could not stop. I would like to add that these are people white & black, driving nice cars, that do not live here, I guess they are using it for a cut through...and the only way this way would be a "short cut" is to drive 50mph instead of 25mph. Several weeks ago, I was in a different neighborhood where the speed was also 25, and with many speed bumps. I had someone not only almost hit the rear of my car but pass me on a narrow road with cars approaching. I stopped so they could get by, I was afraid they were going to hit someone. I was doing the speed limit, it was a short road. They were stuck at the stop sign at the end of the road when I also reached it. So what good was all the drama? I am so tired of this, I have honestly though about carrying a stick, just to scratch the cars or something. I am tired of having to dive in peoples yards. And yes, quite a few of these cars I see Mon through Fri, same thing over and over. Please stop and think...do you want someone doing this where you live? Do you even care? I have reached the point where I don't think drivers can ignorant. They can't read speed limit signs, they don't know what stop means on signs. The other day I saw a car running in the slow lane with their emergency flashers on,on a four lane road, you could tell the car was breaking down & they were trying to find a place to pull off. Behind them was a idiot, not even trying to pass in other lane, just blowing their horn. When the car came to a parking lot and tried to pull off the road, the idiot with the horn passes them in the lot on the left & almost hit them. Is all common sense & common politeness disappeared?
