Here is a great example of how untrustworthy the media can be. Both WSOC and WBTV are claiming their cameramen put out a fire on Wallace Road last night....
WBTV's cameraman grabbed a fire extinguisher, put out the fire and called 911. Amazingly, WSOC's cameraman put out the fire with a garden hose and called 911.
Hmmmm.... who dunnit?

WBTV's Story:
Overnight a brush fire broke out in east Charlotte on Williams Road. Our overnight photographer was on the scene and jumped in to help put it out.
Corey was out on a story when he spotted a brush fire reaching the power line. He grabbed the fire extinguisher from his truck, quickly doused the flames, then called 9-1-1.
A note and lighter were found nearby. Police have arrested aa 17 year old in connection to the fire.
WSOC's Story:
Just before 2 a.m. Thursday, Eyewitness News crews found some shrubbery on fire on Williams Road in east Charlotte. Eyewitness News called 911 to get help while news photographer Vernard Albright used a neighbor's garden hose to help put out the flames.
After the fire was out, a man showed the news crew a note saying "Jay was here" along with a lighter. Police arrested that man who, they said, is 17 years old.
Officers said the 17-year-old will be charged with two counts of arson. One count is for the fire on Williams Road but the other is for another shrubbery fire at an apartment complex on Rosecroft Drive.
Rosecroft Drive is just around the corner from Williams Road. Both fires also happened within just minutes of each other.
