Crime against nature is a legal term used in published cases in the United States since 1814 and normally defined as a form of sexual behavior that is not considered to be 'natural' and is seen as a punishable offense in several US states.
In the broadest sense, a crime against nature could even include masturbation and unusual sexual positions, but these are not seen as such. Sexual practices that are often considered to be crimes against nature are anal sex, bestiality, homosexual acts, fellatio and cunnilingus.

Thank you very much for your contributions to the Charlotte-area residents.
I really enjoy your site content and find the reports extrememly informative. Unlike the local mainstream press publications, you go the extra mile to ensure all crime-related details are made available within the context of your website.
Now, onto my next and final point: Having lived in the Charlotte region now for nearly 10 years, it has become crystal clear who is committing the 'majority' of the crime within this demographic. What concerns me however is how leadership and public law enforcment authorities continue to turn a 'blind-eye' if you will, to the proverbial 'elephant in the room' in order to appear politically-correct to the residents.
When observing your daily 'crime blotter' listings, it's very clear that 'black males' (B/M) are committing nearly 'all' of the reported crimes in and around the metro area. Additionally, they are nearly always armed with dangerous firearms of which are frequently discharged during the criminal acts, injuring, or in some cases, killing their victims!
I often hear the national concerns about terrorism and the association of 'arab-looking' men between the ages of 18-34 as the most likely suspects. Yet, it is quite clear to me (and others) that we have our own 'homegrown' terrorists right here in our backyard, of which NO ONE is willing to stand up to and fight!
To be quite frank, I am less concernd about becoming a victim of a national terrorist attack than I am of being robbed, carjacked, and/or killed while traversing the Charlotte-area streets.
It would please me to see a local council person display some backbone and stand up to and acknowledge this everpresent battle in Charlotte. Severe Action MUST be taken soon to save the city of Charlotte before it is entirely immersed in crime!
Any feedback is welcome (positive, or negative).

You are on the money jbc. The media should be more concerned about telling the truth and less concerned with political correctness. Ignoring the problem is getting us nowhere.

The Watch Commander's log is a synopsis of shift events which occur within the city. The incidents posted are one's which demanded patrol and investigative priority (calls beyond "routine service calls"). Examples would include: homicides, robberies, vehicle collisions involving personal injuries, occupied break-ins, departmental chases, SWAT and bomb-squad call outs, sexual assaults, significant circumstances involving juvenile-related calls, etc. The list is posted daily and what the local news stations retrieve for their "stories".

I currently live in California and was thinking of relocating to the Charlotte area after I finish my Bachelor's degree. After finding your sight and reading about the high crime rate, I'm having serious doubts. The area of the state that I live in already has a high crime rate with serious gang problems. I definitely don't want to trade one high crime city for another! BTW, your sight is a wonderful service to the Charlotte-area residents! Keep up the great work!!!

MySharp,
Please don't let my site discourage you from moving to Charlotte. Charlotte is a beautiful city and has many areas with low crime. Charlotte does have a growing gang problem but they certainly do not 'own' the streets like they do in some cities in California.
The crime statistics may say otherwise but Charlotte is truly not a 'scary' city to live in...

Can you tell me what areas of Charlotte (or neighboring towns) are better than others? I love to be able to look at housing in those areas to see what's available...
Thanks!

MySharp, York County (including Ft. Mill and Rock Hill) SC, Union County, Lanncaster SC. Mecklenburg is just a mess for the most part currently. Take a look at www.charlotte.com and read the articles about new homes and foreclosures. Huntersville is OK, Lake Norman is good if you can afford it. Concord is decent except during race weeks.
