McClure was charged with the murder that took place near Tuckaseegee this past weekend. McClure and his sister were arrested and charged. The CMPD arrest record shows that he had been charged in January of this year for assault and other things. It stated "No bond". The murder arrest also states "No bond". If there is "No bond" why wasn't he in jail?
Can someone define the bond types shown on the arrest records?

The most logical reason that I can think of is a bond hearing, usually 7-10 days after an arrest, there is a bond hearing where bond can be denied, lowered or raised by a judge. If it was lowered enough for him to get out, then the arrest records usually dont reflect this change from my experience.

I believe the "no bond" means they have no bond to post and are free to go until court date.

I believe 7and7 is correct. "No Bond" means the magistrate did not set a bond and the criminal must remain in jail until they go before a Judge for a bond hearing. They do not update the arrest records when the suspect goes before the Judge.
At the bond hearing, the judges in Mecklenburg usually drop the bond to an amount the suspect can afford and the criminals bail out. One of the many problems in Charlotte...
