I have contacted my city councilman James Mitchell with a solution to combat crime but have not received a reply yet. My idea is to post signs at every home and business that has been a victim of crime, that says this..... I HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF CRIME ___ TIMES IN 2007,2008 IN CHAR MECK The victim can fill in the blanks. Just think of it, everywhere you go you will see a sign posted. Anyone doing business in charlotte will see signs posted everywhere they go. This will expose the crime problem to the average citizen.
Also signs should be posted at hundreds of intersections that say this... WITHIN ONE MILE OF THIS INTERSECTION __ CRIMES HAVE OCURED IN THE PAST MONTH I am sure our city officials would support this...(just kidding) HERE IN TIDY TOWN, EVERYTHING IS JUST FINE,, IS WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE YOU THINK.. Every business I know of has been a victim one or more times in the past two years. The real problem lies in the courtrooms , and the average Joe is expected to carry the burden these criminals cause. Lets put the burden back on the criminals where it belongs. Several of my signs have already been on TV, THEY WIIL GET ATTENTION IF THEY ARE POSTED!!!!!

Hey Bob it might be a dumb idea to you, but I have not run across one business owner yet that has not posted one of my signs. When you have been a victim of property crime over and over and the police just smile and tell you to secure your stuff better(translation, spend thousands of dollars on security or more) then you might see things differently.I was put out of business for over a week because of thieves. (translation again.$6000.00 out of pocket costs) This means I have to earn at least $8000.00 to get my money back!!! By the way are you a city employee?(just a guess)... My Idea sure attracted Fox news and they did several stories on it. This was and is the whole idea of the signs , to let the public know just how bad the problem is. Maybe a dumb idea will help, because our local political leadership just does not seem to have a clue! I hope you have not been a victim of property crime and I hope you never are ,but if you have been a victim of crime like me( 5 times in 2 years) maybe you could see things differently. One more thing Bob,this country was built on a lot of dumb ideas according to some people. Maybe my idea is dumb, but I would rather go down swinging than just standing there and doing nothing..

In Jackson, MS, Frank Melton used his own money to put up billboards with a criminals picture on it, stating his crime, etc. He would put them up near the criminals' neighborhood on busy roads, interstates, etc. He had his facts straight so he couldn't get sued.
He is a former t.v. station owner from Texas. He is black. He is now the mayor. But the mostly black city council has tried to run him out of town since his election in (I believe) 2005. He lives in a gated neighborhood and has caught a lot of flack for that. But he has gangs threatening him all the time. I don't blame him.
He is definately unconventional. His first meeting with the city council, he came in wearing a cowboy hat, and gave all the councel members cowboy hats, and stated "there's a new sheriff in town'. Love him, but several of his actions have gotten him into hot water. Such as carrying a gun and going with the police into neighborhoods to bust thugs. Evidently, you're not suppose to carry a gun if you are a mayor. Tearing down crack houses before he was suppose to. Also, some controversy about some of his bodyguards roughing people up. Then, there is all the phony mudslinging, lawsuits and accusations to get him to quit. It would make a great movie!!!

It appears "Bob Dobalina" has nothing better to do than answer all blogs with some negative response. Go figure.

Bob hurt my feelings and now I am disabled ,where can I apply for government assistance? Is there a government program to help out people with hurt feelings. Maybe Mel Watt,Or Parks Helms can point me in the right direction. I am entitled to get help.I demand action now!!! MY feelings of anger are still ok though. I would be willing to take a lesser amount as long as I get something.
