I think we have a really big crime problem in Charlotte. If you compare our crime rate to NYC, we have more crime per capita. When are the leaders of this town going to wake the hell up?

I hate the fact that I have to put up with the damn kids in Charlotte taking over a great city. I hate the fact that these punks are getting out of jail over and over again. What the heck is going on?
My son gets pulled over for going 6 miles over the speedlimit, but these a**holes get chance after chance? I would gladly give more money to fund a huge jail for these jerks.

When I got the opportunity to move down here from NY I was as happy as could be. I couldn't wait to get my kids out of NY. But when I discovered how unsafe it is in Charlotte, I desided to move about 30 miles outside the city. So let me quote something my mother told me.... "It's a great place to visit (for about 10 mins.) but there is no place like home.' Charlotte has the potential, but the community as a whole has alot of work to do in order to "Clean it up."
BTW, Great website.

We have a criminal justice system problem. Every city has crime problems, the difference is they deal with the crooks. We want to make sure they're home in time for crack o'clock.

Hello all,
I heard from a very good friend of mine that this is what is going on. Why Charlotte has so much crime now. New York City on the police force is 100,000 officers strong. They are not taking as much garbage. Harlem is starting to be built back up the way it used to be. The criminal elements are getting out of the north and coming down to the south. Everyone I have met so far is from the north. New York is driving out their bad ones. They are fleeing to the south now. We are the ones who are dealing with it. Cops need to sit there and go into the courts and fight for these young kids committing the crimes to stay locked up. Charlotte is going to be nothing but a prison capital eventually if this continues. We need some kind of harsher punishment. The kids have no fear of law enforcement or their parents for that fact. Now out in Burlington and in the deep country those kids are a little more afraid when daddy is going to say I will shoot you with this gun. LOL, Maybe that is the problem kids aren't being disciplined with the fear we were when we were growing up. Put the Bible and God back into the school system and the wooden paddles. Especially the one with the holes in it and whoop these kids butts when they disrespect the teachers. Kids spend more time in school than with their parents. Paren'ts are at work and some parents working double shifts. Teachers should have more authority over these kids. They spend anywhere from 8-14 hours with them. Some kids are going to before and after school care cause it takes two parents to work to make a living. Don't have kids if you can't discipline them and refuse to work with the other parent who helped make the child. It takes two to tango. So both of them need to work together quit the baby mama drama and daddy baby drama stuff. Have the best interest of the child at heart. Young People please wait till you have a job and a house of your own to get pregnant. Young girls he doesn't love you if he sleeps with you. He doesn't respect you. Boy's Don't think you can make her fall in love with you either. Wait till you are ready to have kids please.!!!

You are absolutely correct miss. Parents today have children and don't accept responsibility for them period. Why don't parents today get embarrassed when their child is a criminal? My parents would have whooped my a$$ if I made them look bad in front of their friends. We need more police in Charlotte especially on the weekends when crime is at its worst. City government should make crime a financial priority. Great Site!
