I live in the Noda area and have a 2006 F150. It was sitting at my house and someone tried to break into it on Sept 28. The perp did not get in, but really messed up my drivers door which cost me a decent bit to fix.
So, now I am wondering what else is going on around here. I have noticed lots of foot traffic around my house. People come up to my door every day and ring the doorbell "to see if I have any work for them"
I like the area, but the crime is higher than I expected.
So, I want to start a section here. Let us know whats going on around here.

That has always been a high crime area. Fortunately it has gotten a little better in last few years. A friend of mine lived on 35th and moved because prostitutes and drug dealers seemed to constantly be around her house.

Hopefully the OP will come back at some point and read this. If not, some other F-150 owners may find it useful.
F-150s, Expeditions, Explorers, etc. are easy targets for thieves for a few reasons. One reason is they are easy to get into. The door locks can be punched out and the door can be opened relatively easily and quietly. Second, many people customize their vehicles with aftermarket stereos, wheels, etc. Third, electronics are easily removed with one simple tool. The dash panels can be pulled off by hand, leaving the stereo to be yanked out with the removal of only 4 screws.
One way to slow the thieves who punch locks is the Jimmy Jammers. I've never used them, but I have heard they do help. Of course, if they really want in, they'll just smash the window. But that makes noise and sometimes that just isn't acceptable to the thief.
Get an alarm with an interior motion sensor. I've got one on my convertible. It will go off if someone reaches in the car. It won't go off if someone just walks near it. With the alarm, I can leave the top down and be a little more comfortable with it.
A good alarm will come with everything you need. Glass break sensor, motion sensor, starter kill, and the option for a remote starter.
For that extra kick, hook up some train horns to the alarm and know that if someone does try to break in they'll more than likely have a nice ringing in their ears for hours .
