RECENT THEFTS IN CLANTON PARK
Early last week the Westover Division investigated three incidents where a suspect tricked her way into the homes of Clanton Park residences.
The suspect presented herself as a person in need and claimed to know the homeowner or the homeowner’s neighbor. The suspect is familiar with Clanton Park and used names of Clanton Park residents to gain the homeowners’ confidence.
The suspect made statements such as “Mrs. Smith next door said you could help me. Can I use your phone?” When the homeowner allowed the suspect into their home, and when the homeowner was not looking the suspect removed money and credit cards.
The suspect is described as an African American female in her early 20’s, with brown skin, driving a green four-door vehicle or a silver four-door vehicle. She is often accompanied by an African American male driver.
The Westover Division encourages ALL Clanton Park residences to use caution when allowing unfamiliar subjects into their homes.
If you have any information relating to these crimes, please contact Officer T. Post in the Westover Division at 704-432-2442
