One week ago today my credit card was stolen by a restaurant employee, and she and her boyfriend, along with their three children went on a shopping spree to the US's largest discount store. On my own, I have found out the thieves names, address, workplace (former.. she was fired immediately after her boss saw the security photos), etc.. The police have told us that this will most likely be "ignored, denied" by the D.A.'s office because they are just too busy for this sort of crime. My family's life has been hell for a week. We cannot pay our bills, get gas in our cars, even do decent food shopping because the only account we had is still tied up. The woman who stole our card is probably looking for another job she can walk to (has D.U.I. charges - current) in the Galleria Shopping Center. Her boyfriend does not work... just steals, apparently. I'm mad because no one person downtown will listen. There is an officer of the CMP dept. that is trying his hardest to do something, but there's only so much he can do. So, ____ the thief may be doing this to more people very soon, since it's so easy to get away with.

Do they rent? Do they get HUD money? I would try to find out so you can contact the officials. At least the owners of apt's should know. Possibly their neighbors, so they won't get ripped off by them. I would also contact Department of Human Services, and let them know that the children are living with thieves. I don't know if that makes any difference or not.
Also, is the credit card co. going to prosecute? Or can they? Which restaurant was it, and how did she get your card? Or did she just get the number?

Knowing the restaurant would be nice. I'm not familiar with the shopping center you referred to as well. Where is it?
